Glosario
Por petición popular, voy a ir generando un pequeño glosario, en el que incluir definiciones de términos y referencias tanto para los más profanos, como para los iniciados que quieran profundizar más.
De momento, vamos a hacerlo cutrecillo. Iré incorporando poco a poco términos que salgan en las entradas que vaya escribiendo en el blog y, cuando tenga tiempo, lo iré completando. Según vaya ampliando la cosa, lo iremos estructurando (a ver si dentro de un par de meses es más grande que la wikipedia 
)

2D-plus-depth
2D-plus-depth es un formato de codificación de video en 3D estereoscópico desarrollado para su serie de televisores WOWvx, discontinuada en 2009. Este formato almacena la información tridimensional descomponiendola en tres “sumandos”:
- Una imagen “real” monoscópica
- Un mapa de profundidad de cada uno de los puntos de la imagen. Este mapa se almacena junto a la imagen principal, como otra imagen en escala de grises en la que la intensidad de gris de cada punto corresponde a la profundidad que tiene que tener ese punto en la imagen principal a la hora de ser representada.
- Información de declipsado.

La Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) es responsable de promocionar y desarrollar oportunidades empresariales para Blu-ray Disc – el formato de disco óptico de próxima generación para almacenar películas en alta definición, juegos, fotos y otros contenidos digitales. La BDA tiene más de 180 miembros. Sus principales miembros son Apple Inc., Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard Company, Hitachi, Ltd., Intel Corporation, LG Electronics Inc., Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Panasonic Corp., Pioneer Corporation, Royal Philips Electronics, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Sharp Corporation, Sony Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Inc., TDK Corporation, Thomson, Twentieth Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures and Television, y Warner Bros. Declipsado
El declipsado es un procedimiento que se emplea para tratar con el fenómeno por el cuál, cada ojo percibe una porción adicional del fondo que se encuentra detrás de un objeto y que este objeto tapa al otro ojo. Por tanto, para almacenar una imagen estereoscópica no es suficiente con almacenar una imagen plana y un mapa de profundidad, pues habrá zonas eclipsadas, no vistas por un ojo, pero por el otro sí, que no estarían descritas por estos dos componentes. Por tanto, para almacenar una imagen estereoscópica, es necesario, además, añadir esta información de “declipsado” para los ángulos desde los que se desea reproducir el punto de vista.

OLED es el acrónimo de de Organic Led Emitting Diode (también llamados LEP u OEL) y es un LED cuya capa electroluminiscente se compone de compuestos orgánicos.
Un dispositivo OLED, generalmente tiene un sustrato de polímero sobre el que se depositan los compuestos orgánicos en una matriz de filas y columas, por un proceso “simple” de impresión. De esta forma se obtiene una matriz de pixels que pueden emitir luz de diferentes colores.
Los dispositivos OLED producen menos luminosidad que los LED inorgánicos que, en general, se emplean más para iluminación.
La principal ventaja de las pantallas OLED sobre los displays tradicionales de cristal líquido (LCDs) es que no requiren retroiluminación, por lo que consumen mucha menos energía. Por este mismo motivo pueden ser muchísimo más finos (y flexibles) que un dispositivo LCD lo que ha permitido el desarrollo de pantallas, enrollables y se está investigando su aplicación incluso a la ropa. Su principal desventaja es que, si bien se han desarrollado capas roja y verde de larga duración, las capas azules conseguidas hasta ahora tienen una vida muy limitada en comparación con otras tecnologías. Por ejemplo, una capa azul empleada en un televisor que se usara 8 horas al día, tendría sólo una vida de unos 5 años.
